OVERVIEW
Since its completion in 1868, St Pancras International has undergone a wealth of changes and today is the terminus for Britain's only high speed railway lines. Such a destination attracts a staggering 300,000 passengers each day, making the maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene an utmost concern.
THE CHALLENGE
Cleaning personnel must cover all areas of the station from the ticketing offices to the 15 platforms, as well as external areas, which include the station's taxi ranks. The importance of the contract means that Rentokil's performance is continually assessed and must meet very high standards. A particular challenge for cleaning staff at the station is an absence of waste bins, for security reasons. Crucially, this results in a constant litter issue; which means the station requires cleaning staff operating on a continual basis.
THE SOLUTION
Rentokil Initial saw Rubbermaid as the ideal company to provide a robust and reliable solution and hence selected a wide range of Rubbermaid's cleaning solutions. These include the PULSE Microfibre Floor Cleaning Systems and the Microfibre Carts, which have all helped to improve efficiency both in terms of time and labour. Rubbermaid's products enable Rentokil Initial to exercise its environmentally friendly ethos, as the design of the Microfibre Carts encourages the recycling of waste while Rubbermaid's Pulse Kit, with Microfibre Mop Pads, reduces overall water usage.
THE RESULTS
Productivity has increased by 25% and there have also been significant environmental benefits due to the reduced water usage. Using Rubbermaid products, Rentokil Initial has been able to ensure that St Pancras International truly provides a sparkling first impression of London.
